The Decision Room is the brainchild of Geoff Beattie: forty years in newsrooms, agencies and government war rooms, more than twenty of them advising governments and global companies through real crises.

It gives your team a way to test its crisis readiness against the principles Geoff has used in those rooms, delivered by an AI coach built on his method. The characters it plays have memories and agendas, so a promise made to one of them at ten o’clock is held against you at two. The marking is consistent in a way no observer in the room can be: five dimensions, every decision, the same yardstick throughout the day, and a reason for every mark. Geoff runs the day and leads the debrief himself.

What it tests

Five things, at every one of the thirteen decisions.

Speed & decisivenessDo they move, or do they circle?
Situational awarenessDo they read what’s actually happening?
Stakeholder judgementDo they know who matters, and what each one needs to hear?
Communication qualityCan they say it clearly, under fire?
Strategic coherenceDo the decisions add up, or contradict each other?

Each out of three. The AI marks; forty years of real crisis rooms decided what good looks like.

A safe place to find out

The company, the journalists and the events are fictional. Nothing your team says leaves the room, and no one is exposed. It is the one place a leadership team can make the wrong call on a bad day and learn from it before the day is real.

What you gain

How your team actually decides under pressure.

Who speaks, who waits, what gets said and what gets missed — decision by decision, not a vague sense of how it went.

You leave with a debrief report: the verdict, the day decision by decision with every mark and the coaching that goes with it, the real cases your decisions are measured against, and three actions with owners and dates. Part scorecard, part manual for what your team develops next.
